The 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards had many of the same winners that the past few award shows have had. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber as the main big winners for this year. However, they were not the only ones who helped make this year’s award show worthy to talk about.
Lady Gaga may have opened up the show, but Selena Gomez was the one who hosted the whole event. Gaga and Bieber were big winners, while Avril Lavigne had a slip up, Ian Someholder admitted his crush, and other fun events helped keep the show in check. Bieber and Gaga both won 2 awards each, which is not bad for either of them.
I wonder how they will be able to top off next year’s? MTV should start worrying about a newer, hotter awards show. I do think that Selena sadly only got the chance, because of who she is dating. However, I do think it gave her a chance to warm up the Canadians. I assume that would not be an easy job, considering that she is still fairly new and likely seen as a Disney kid. I hope this awards show helped shape their opinion on her in a good way.
